This role is essential for those passionate about environmental stewardship and eager to contribute to the preservation of natural landscapes through effective vegetation management.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the application of herbicides using UTV and ATV mounted systems, targeting unwanted vegetation while conserving beneficial flora.

  • Engage in various environmental management practices including mechanical control, erosion control, and soil remediation to support the health of natural ecosystems.

  • Operate safely in rural and remote locations, adapting to long hours (typically 12-hour shifts) and flexible scheduling based on weather conditions.

  • Utilize specialized software for precise tracking of herbicide application across different sites.

Career Path and Development:

  • Start your journey as an Assistant Applicator with the prospect of advancing to a Certified Applicator role. This transition comes with a pay increase and acknowledges your expertise and familiarity with our operational procedures.

  • Comprehensive training provided, including safe operation of one-ton or larger crew trucks and trailer management.

  • Opportunities for professional development through certification courses, such as Sprayer Application Certification (for BC and Alberta), H2S, First Aid, and UTV/ATV operation.

Additional Benefits:

  • For those joining us from out of town, we understand the importance of a smooth transition. To support you, we offer a rent subsidy to assist with your housing needs. Furthermore, we intend to rent accommodations to house our team collectively, should there be sufficient interest. Our goal is to ensure you have a comfortable living environment while you contribute to our vital work.

  • Experience working in some of the most scenic areas of BC and Alberta. This role is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in breathtaking landscapes, contributing significantly to environmental preservation and wildfire prevention.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to safely drive a one-ton or larger crew truck; trailer handling proficiency is advantageous.

  • Strong computer skills for effective use of in-house tracking applications.

  • A passion for outdoor work, environmental conservation, and a willingness to engage in physical labor for extended periods.

  • Previous experience in vegetation management is preferred, though not mandatory, as training will be provided.

Application Process: We invite candidates who are driven by a commitment to environmental management and looking for a meaningful career path in vegetation management. If you are ready to start your journey with us and grow into a Certified Applicator role, please submit your resume and cover letter, highlighting any relevant experience and your passion for the environment.
